I can say that we are experiencing the effects of climate change for sometime now more so today then ever, the weather is getting off to a very unpredictable start here in Canada and around the world not all provinces are like here in Québec, Canada, we’re not getting the sun shine or the welcoming warm weather as usual and experiencing lower than moral temperatures especially here during our summer months.We can say that spring was a total loss, summer was no better. I can just imagine what awaits us for this coming winter would be like.
These changes in climate isn’t helping us to adjust, our body’s chemistry are showing signs of unusual imbalance in our physical and mental health. Our biological clock is being affected in many ways, sometimes causing anxiety and lots of frustrated stress that can lead to depression a concern not to over look and also not getting or having a full night’s sleep waking up extremely moody and irritable and showing a lot of frustration before our day even gets started.
Definition of seasonal Blues. ( S>A>D ):
Seasonal Affective Disorder this is a type of a mild to moderate seasonal depression (SAD) that occur during seasonal changes in our seasonal climate changes particularly in the fall and winter some call this the seasonal blues. (A).Here’s how to recognise if you are having these system of (SAD) it could start first by affecting your motivation causing you to procrastinate or feeling moody and irritable you may experience some loss of appetite, loss of concentration not sleeping well, procrastinating on small duties to be done today putting off for the next day and it never gets done.
We can all attest having done this at onetime or another. These are just some of the indicator or signes of (SAD). Other systems, including weight gain or loss could be to blame on climate changes. I can say that this is a poor excuse for having bad diet habits in seasonal changes but we all do it from time to time.
I learned that , these changes in the climate and was told that it was normal to feel down and out sometime during these seasonal changes True, but not normal when it get to affect our mental health, but remember we can do something about it so, why suffer when there are all kinds of solution that we can apply to live with these changes.
The festive seasonal Blues or our special day’s for celebration can be affected by these changes affecting our attitudes and feelings.
There are solution that I, use and recommend to be beneficial:
There are therapies that suggest using light therapy called Photo therapy, as well as taking multiple vitamin supplements that are available like vitamin D and B6 thiamine and other minerals. And fish oil like Omega 3 supplements that are known to be very effective to take daily. There is also dawn simulators which is a low-intensity light that is used during your sleeping hours and there is bright light therapy as well to use during the day and these units just to let you know can be costly to own but worth it.
There is also quite meditation with your favorite music that I, recommend to be very up lifting then there is hypnotherapy and there are many psychologist that offers single or group therapy! on this subject also try out the dawn simulators available in any tech shop.Use this while you sleep and wake up refresh the unite is call the Lumiere Body Clock for people that find bright light therapy is not for them. I, say it is a very good night time choice and not to costly.
